Indication
Infections due to sensitive Grampositive and Gram-negative bacteria: surgical prophylasis; more active against Haemophilus influenzae and neisseria gonorrhoea; Lyme disease.
Dosage
750 mg of cefuroxime sodium is administered IV or IM every 8 hrs but in more severe infections, 1.5 g is administered IV every 8 hrs. If necessary, it is administered IV or IM every 6 hrs but it should not exceed 3-6 g/day.
